Contemporary Design
Originally developed for his Design Academy Eindhoven graduation project, Dennis Parren’s series of CMYK lamps employ red, yellow, and blue LED bulbs to stunning effect.
When these three primary colors combine, they generate white light. But when one of these hues is blocked—by, say, the sculptural form of the lamp itself—the other two join forces to produce cyan, magenta, and yellow colored shadows. On tabletops or on the floor, these mini light installations exploit the magical, mysterious physical properties of color.
The lamp comes with a specially designed 8 watt LED bulb and needs to be wired into the ceiling socket. There is a 1.5 meter mulitcore cable running from the wall to the adaptor and followed by a 3 meter white fabric cable to the lamp.
