A Fine Example of a Regency Carved Giltwood and Gesso Convex Wall Mirror. Rare to find of this quality in its original unrestored condition. The pediment surmounted with a finely carved eagle with lions mask below. Flanked by finely carved leaf decoration. The original mercury convex mirror circled with a reeded ebony slip. The lower section again having the most finely carved acanthus leaf detail. In good condition with wear commensurate to age. The mirror plate is beautifully foxed but useable and still reflects. The rear has two old trade labels, one for a Lewes removals company from the 1960’s and what was probably the makers trade label. One of the nicest we have ever had and will make a perfect addition to your home.
