Forma Lamp By Bunte & Remmler BUR Circa 1930s – Steel shade with original brown paint – Nickel arm with wooden handle – Takes E27 fitting bulbs – Original On/Off porcelain toggle switch on the shade – Made by Bunte & Remmler BUR, Frankfurt – German ~ 1930s – 14cm wide x 37cm deep 43cm tall – Shade measures 14cm wide Bünte & Remmler factory 1919 Bünte & Remmler Bünte & Remmler was founded in 1880 in Frankfurt am Main and first started in the manufacture of petroleum burners, brass parts and draught lamps. By the outbreak of the first world war they are one of the largest German manufacturers of electric lights in Germany. Following the first world war and into the 1 920s designs by Christian Dell, Wolfgang Tümpel and others were produced taking on the new design style of the Bauhaus. In 1931 the company takes over Rondella lamps and continues to produce some of their designs. The company moves to Lahnstrasse 60-68 Frankfurt am Main in 1937 and then undergoes Reconstruction and modernization of the production buildings in Frankfurt after the war in 1950.
