Chinese Qing Dynasty watercolour and gouache on Pith paper, Canton C.1835.
Capturing Canton life, the image of a women weaving depicts daily life in Qing Dynasty China. This export paintings were known for their skill and vibrancy of colour.
A wonderful example in very good condition, commensurate of age. Two tears to the pith paper and age spots, which do not detract from the painting.
