Crafted in Liege, Belgium in the early-19th century, the beauty of solid, quarter sawn oak is prominently displayed on the raised panels of the sides and on the doors of this substantial armoire. Small carvings of pineapple encircled by C scrolls with acanthus leaves adorn the corners of the door panels, while the side panels have been left unadorned. Three elaborate carvings cascade down the center and sides near the crown cornice at the top of the armoire. The armoire’s generous open interior makes an ideal place for a large screen television, or use the pegs and upper bar for hanging clothing, making a spacious wardrobe. Two lower, interior drawers keep smaller items organized. Supported by bun feet, the armoire is just over 7 feet tall.
