This exceptional antique Dutch silver teapot has an oval, rounded form.
The surface of this Dutch teapot is embellished with a band of embossed fluted decoration to the lower portion, in addition to a band of applied thread decoration to the concaved arched shoulders.
This impressive teapot is fitted with the original plain concave push fit hallmarked cover.
The cover is surmounted with the original pear wood and silver ball shaped finial, accented with a carved ribbed design; the finial secures to the interior with a screw fitment.
The teapot retains the original carved pear wood C-shaped handle, with an impressive scrolling upper socket.
This Fine teapot is fitted with a swan necked spout, ornamented to the underside with further fluted decoration.
The Dutch hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot include:

Silver quality/purity mark: Lion Passant mark with 2nd standard purity (.833, 833/1000)

This antique Dutch teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver for its type, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The Dutch hallmarks struck to the underside of the foot and interior of the cover are all very clear.
