A remarkable, and strong early 19th century American Empire secretary bookcase of grand architectural scale with an incredible arched pediment over a bookcase with two doors retaining their original wavy glazing, three adjustable interior shelves and two interior drawers with working locks and key, and all flanked by two bold ‘mustache’ elements. The base includes three drawers with locks and key, a flip-top desk with green felt pad and carved slots for pens and other desk accessories, and robust scrolled legs and feet. The entire cabinet is clad in the most beautiful book-matched flame mahogany veneer with a glow only time could bestow. Perfect for use as a writing desk and bookcase in your study, but fill the top with glassware, and the drawers with barware, and you’ve got an incredible bar for your living room!
