Early 19th century Chinese export gilt decorated black lacquer gaming board, circa 1820-1830. The game board painted with gilt seated figures in various poses on a black ground within a landscape vignette and floral border, opening to view a backgammon surface; together with natural and red stained pierced and carved ivory counters with two dice shakers and four bone dice. Chess board on the other side, and counters can also be used as chess pieces when flipped over.
