This gorgeous Chinese Export Famille Rose plate was made for the Boston Market in the early part of the 19th century. The enameled detail is incredible with various stylized flowers, butterflies and insects in the center. The border features eight cartouches alternating with birds, butterflies and flowers outlined in black and butterflies, books and scholarly tools outlined in gold gilt. Very detailed and colorful in shades of pinks, rust, blue, greens, yellow, gold, black and grey over a white background. No markings on bottom.
