Interior with lift out tray with green leather and padded velvet lining, this is above another lift out tray with leather lining which is above a padded velvet lined base. Backboard velvet lined and reveals a document storer behind. Document holder with rococo gilding and “EDWARDS, MANUFACTURER TOHIS MAJESTY, 21 KING ST BLOOMSBURY LONDON’. Lock by J Bramah – a sign of high quality as Bramah was famed for developing an unpickable lock.
Size : 36.5×26.5, 15.8cm height
Condition : Very good – there is a fine crack across the cover which is stable and does not detract from appearance – otherwise, minor age related wear only. Woking lock and key.
Restoration : Some of the velvet has been relined.
